With Out of here I picture the last day at work before the weekend or a holiday, finishing up the last things and going home to be free for awhile after a heavy week or time. The hook really cheers me up and it was also the first thing that popped in my head. I love to sing it to feel happy, to be upbeat. The hook 'Ooh, baby, baby, oh baby baby, this way baby baby, that way baby baby' was the first line that came to me for this song. There are situations in life that can make you feel frustrated. For me they are situations at work for example that you think 'why this way?'. The song sounds pretty frustating I think. Frustrated I mixed and produced in my home studio myself.

Get on with it is a favorite of mine. At the summer of 2008 things were going well again after a long period of struggles and the chords just wouldn't let me go. Music is a way for me to deal with difficult situations and I put all of it in that song. I re-wrote and re-recorded this song many times. You could hear the struggles in the music, it's not an easy song to play. Get on with it I mixed and produced myself mostly.

Our Children's Future is one of my old demo's that I re-recorded during the Christmas Holidays of 2023. I re-wrote parts of the song and re-arranged the chord pattern. The song is about environmental problems and the consequences they have on the lives of children who are dealing with the outcome of the way we treat this planet. They weren't responsible but get the problems that come with it. Our Children's Future is one of the recordings we mixed during the Next Level Producer course. The instructor, Ben van Essen, helped me mixing this song.

I remember we went on a weekend trip to Antwerp and my mother and I visited a museum. While absorbing the art in the museum the hook (Not me, Not me) just wouldn't let me go. I recorded it on my phone and worked it out later behind the piano. The inspiration for the song came to me fluently. Sometimes I have this beat or a bass line I had laying around, but with this song I started from scratch, just the chords, the hook and the melodies stuck in my head. It talks about being yourself in this modern world, but also saying no to what is not me, what I don't want to be and despite feeling alone sometimes I won't make concessions. Not Me was one of the recordings we mixed during the Next Level Producer course. The instructor, Ben van Essen, helped me mixing this song. He also recorded the guitar solo and the guitar pattern throughout the whole song.

I've had some struggles with love. In this song I sing about going back to where love can begin again after it was lost: In the heart. If I could make a videoclip with the song it would take place in a lounge beachclub with a relaxed vibe. In my heart was also one of the recordings we mixed with the Next Level Producer course. 'Life (could be magic)' was released in July 2023 and it is about being hopeful about the future regarding the challenges we face such as environmental issues. Life, this time on Earth, is wonderful, it can be. It's good to realize where we are. If you look around this planet is really a magical place. When you walk in a beautiful forest or spend time on the beach with calm blue waves and a soft breeze or when travelling through the many landscapes Earth has, you can see it. 'Safety Brake' was released in May 2023 after it was recorded at the studio of Chris Beckers in december 2022. The words of the song were completed after a train journey. I was inspired by the beautiful landscapes and how fast it shifts by. I felt the same about life itself. Life is a journey as well and things can change fast. The music, the background vocals and the sounds I pre-recorded in my home studio and were used to complete the song. Safety Brake was recorded and mixed in the studio of Chris Beckers.
